Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking skilled and safety-focused Riggers to join our team. The Rigger will be responsible for preparing, securing, and moving heavy loads using rigging equipment such as slings, shackles, hooks, and cranes. This role requires excellent knowledge of load-bearing capabilities, balance, and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect and prepare rigging equipment prior to use, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Set up and dismantle rigging for lifting and moving structures, machinery, or materials. Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads. Determine the weight and center of gravity of loads to properly rig and secure them. Collaborate with crane operators, engineers, and other construction or maintenance team members. Perform maintenance and minor repairs on rigging equipment as necessary. Maintain accurate records of rigging operations and incidents. Adhere to company and site-specific safety policies and procedures at all times. Perform site inspections to assess rigging needs and potential hazards. Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and regular training sessions.
Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Rigger in construction, oil & gas, shipbuilding, or industrial sectors. Certification in rigging and/or crane signaling (e.g., OSHA, LEEA, or equivalent). Good understanding of math and physics as applied to load-bearing and rigging setups. Ability to read and interpret load charts, lifting plans, blueprints, and technical drawings. Physically fit with the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions. Strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with specialized rigging (heavy lifts, tandem lifts, confined spaces, etc.). Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, ANSI, API RP 2D). First Aid/CPR certification.
