The Rigger will be responsible for preparing and aligning the necessary equipment to lift, move, and position heavy materials safely. The individual must have a deep understanding of rigging methods, load calculations, and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
: Set up rigging and lifting equipment such as ropes, pulleys, cranes, and winches to safely move large and heavy materials.
Inspect rigging equipment before use and ensure that it meets all safety and operational requirements.
Work closely with crane operators and other team members to ensure safe and efficient lifting operations.
Align, level, and anchor machinery.
Signal crane or hoist operators to safely move loads into position.
Dismantle rigging equipment after job completion and safely store it.
Follow safety protocols to prevent injury or accidents during the lifting process.
Interpret blueprints, sketches, and project specifications to ensure proper rigging.
Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
: Proven experience as a Rigger or similar role in the construction or oil & gas industries.
Familiarity with rigging equipment and heavy machinery.
Ability to read technical drawings and rigging plans.
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations in rigging.
Good physical strength and stamina.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Relevant certification or license (e.g., NCCCO Rigger Certification, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
: High school diploma or equivalent.
