We are looking for a Rigger Level 2 with mandatory SABIC experience to support lifting, rigging, and material-handling activities during the upcoming shutdown/turnaround. The Rigger Level 2 will be responsible for executing safe and efficient rigging operations, assisting with movement of heavy rotating and static equipment, and ensuring compliance with SABIC safety and rigging standards. This role requires technical knowledge, precision, and adherence to strict safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Perform rigging duties including lifting, lowering, positioning, and securing heavy equipment according to SABIC-approved procedures.
Assist in the movement of pumps, compressors, turbines, exchangers, valves, gearboxes, and other plant equipment.
Select appropriate lifting tools such as slings, shackles, hooks, chain blocks, and hoists in compliance with load requirements.
Conduct visual inspection of rigging gear and lifting accessories before use; report defects immediately.
Coordinate with crane operators, rigging supervisors, and maintenance teams to ensure safe lifting operations.
Interpret rigging drawings, load charts, and lifting plans.
Ensure proper weight estimation, load balance, center of gravity alignment, and safe lifting angles.
Maintain strict compliance with SABIC safety standards, permit systems, and LOTO procedures.
Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and pre-lift meetings.
Ensure all rigging operations are executed safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime and avoiding damage.
Assist in housekeeping and material movements in the work area as required.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
Technical certification or relevant vocational training.
Experience:
+ Minimum 5+ years of rigging experience in petrochemical, oil & gas, or industrial plants.
+ Mandatory SABIC shutdown/turnaround experience (candidate must be familiar with SABIC safety and rigging protocols).
