Job Description

The Rig Operator manages and operates the drilling rig, ensuring that all procedures are followed and that safety protocols are strictly adhered to. They coordinate with the drilling team and other personnel to ensure that drilling operations are carried out effectively, while maintaining the rig's equipment and handling any technical issues that arise.

Key Responsibilities

:

Operate and monitor rig equipment

: Ensure proper functioning of all machinery involved in drilling operations, including rotary equipment, pumps, and other rig components.

Supervise crew members

: Oversee rig crew, assign tasks, and ensure they follow safety protocols and best practices during drilling operations.

Ensure safety compliance

: Implement and enforce safety measures to protect the crew, environment, and equipment. Respond to emergency situations such as equipment malfunctions or dangerous drilling conditions.

Perform rig maintenance

: Conduct regular maintenance checks, troubleshoot equipment issues, and arrange for repairs or replacements as necessary to minimize downtime.

Monitor drilling progress

: Track the depth, pressure, and speed of drilling operations, making adjustments as needed to optimize efficiency.

Coordinate with engineers and geologists

: Work closely with technical staff to ensure drilling operations are aligned with project specifications and objectives.

Manage drilling reports and logs

: Maintain accurate records of drilling activities, including the depth of the well, drilling conditions, and equipment performance.

Comply with environmental regulations

: Ensure that drilling activities meet environmental standards, and manage waste disposal and spill prevention.

Qualifications

:

Education

: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in drilling operations is preferred.

Experience

: 3-5 years of experience in drilling operations, preferably in the piling construction industry.

Licenses/Certifications

: Relevant UAE certifications required.

Skills:

Strong mechanical and technical knowledge of drilling equipment. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Leadership and supervisory skills to manage a crew. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to work under pressure in remote or hazardous environments.

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED4,500.00 per month
