Job Description
Key responsibilities
Diagnosis
: Perform physical exams, review patient medical history, and order and interpret diagnostic tests to diagnose musculoskeletal and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and osteoporosis.Required qualifications
Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) Completion of a residency in internal medicine Board certification or eligibility in rheumatology Strong analytical and clinical skills, as well as excellent patient relations skills
Treatment planning
: Create and manage long-term treatment plans to manage chronic conditions, alleviate symptoms, and improve quality of life.Performing procedures
: Administer treatments such as joint injections to reduce inflammation and pain.Medication management
: Prescribe medications to manage the condition and slow its progression.Patient education
: Educate patients about their condition and treatment options.Collaboration
: Work with other healthcare professionals, such as primary care physicians, physical therapists, and occupational therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.Research
: Some positions may involve participating in clinical trials and research to advance the understanding and treatment of rheumatic diseases.Job Type: Part-time
