Job Description
Job Summary:
The Restaurant Cashier is responsible for handling customer transactions, processing orders, and providing excellent service at the point of sale. This role requires accuracy, efficiency, and a friendly demeanor to ensure a positive dining experience for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers warmly and assist with orders.
- Process cash, credit, debit, and mobile payments accurately.
- Handle cash register operations, including balancing the drawer at the start and end of shifts.
- Answer customer questions regarding menu items, promotions, and pricing.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
- Collaborate with kitchen and waitstaff to ensure order accuracy.
- Resolve customer complaints or escalate issues to management when necessary.
- Follow all restaurant policies, including hygiene and safety standards.
- Assist with light side duties such as restocking condiments, utensils, and to-go supplies.
- Previous cashier or customer service experience preferred.
- Basic math and computer skills (POS system experience a plus).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude.
- Food handler's certification (if required by local regulations).
