Job Description

We are seeking a qualified, dynamic, and highly motivated candidate to join our team as a Research Associate (an academic, post-doctoral job category) at the College of Business and Economics, UAE University. The research focuses on the intersection of family business and entrepreneurship. The position is for one year but may be extended by another year based on the candidate's performance. The candidate should be proficient in and willing to learn the latest research tools quickly. The researcher will have significant input in the following areas: Development of research outputs: - Carrying out a systematic literature review and developing a theoretical framework for the study - Qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis (e.g., survey, interviews, and focus groups). - Interpreting and discussing findings. - Leading the development of a comprehensive report on the research topic. - Writing of academic papers. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the international project team, including the Principal Investigator, Dr Raihan Taqui Syed (PI), and a UK-based international collaborator to achieve project milestones and objectives. Dissemination: Assist in disseminating project findings through various channels, including peer-reviewed journals, conferences, workshops, and outreach materials. Reporting: Regularly report progress to the PI, participate in team meetings, and ensure project goals and timelines are aligned. Supervision: Significant input is expected in the day-to-day supervision of research assistants who might also be employed throughout the research project. Minimum Qualification



PhD in Business/Management. The candidate should be proficient in and willing to learn the latest research tools quickly.



Preferred Qualification



Master and doctorate degrees in Entrepreneurship/Business/Management or related field (s) from an accredited, well-established university approved by the UAE Ministry of Education Strong knowledge of entrepreneurship/business fundamentals, with research experience in family business being a plus. Command over qualitative and quantitative research methods, with expertise in at least one, is mandatory Published paper (s) in the field of Business/Family Business Management/Entrepreneurship Good communication and networking skills Previous experience in dealing with students and academic scholars Previous Research Assistant experience is a plus Ability to handle multiple tasks with deadlines Candidates who are already residing in the UAE (employment/Study/dependent/golden visa) will be preferred Contract duration: Two years (with yearly renewal upon performance and mutual agreement) Joining date: Immediate
