We seek a highly motivated and enthusiastic Research Associate to join our multidisciplinary team working on a funded project focused on Molecular Genetics in Plant Immunity. This position offers an exciting opportunity to explore the molecular and physiological date palm-Fusarium proliferatum-biocontrol agent (BCA) interactions. The successful candidate will lead the experimental design, RNA-seq analysis, and integration of physiological, biochemical, and omics datasets to unravel novel disease resistance and biocontrol mechanisms. Key Responsibilities: Maintain greenhouse experiments involving pathogen inoculation and BCA treatments. Conduct RNA extraction, library prep., and qRT-PCR. Analyze time-course RNA-seq. (transcriptomics) and metabolomics data. Perform a variety of laboratory analyses (molecular analysis, physiological measurements and biochemical assays). Write scientific manuscripts and assist with grant reporting. Supervise and provide training to undergrad. and grad. students. Maintain detailed records and ensure proper data management. Present research findings at scientific conferences. Minimum Qualification PhD (or nearing completion) in Plant Molecular Biology, Plant Pathology, Genomics, Bioinformatics, or related field. Strong experience with RNA-seq technologies, bioinformatics tools, and statistical analysis of omics data. Solid background in plant-microbe interactions, particularly with fungal pathogens and/or beneficial microbes. Experience with molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, qRT-PCR, electrophoresis). Proficiency in R or other scripting languages for omics data analysis. Demonstrated record of peer-reviewed publications. Preferred Qualification
