Position Overview

KU is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to work at the Advanced Research and Innovation Center (ARIC) in collaboration with Mubadala. ARIC investigates the advanced technologies that are of priority to the UAE\'s vision, including: additive manufacturing, digital solutions & robotics, healthcare, and sustainability.

As part of the center, successful candidates will lead the administrative and human building processes withing the center. The candidate will setup state-of-the-art projects management software and frameworks and train lab researchers accordingly. The candidate will be responsible for reporting the progress and achievements of the center to all stakeholders through regular reports and presentation. The candidate will also support all researchers in terms of reviewing all official documents published by the center to ensure that all ARIC publications are to the highest standards. Furthermore, the candidate will take lead in coordinating with external parties and other departments withing the university. In summary, the candidate will work closely with the center\'s director and the project lead to ensure that the center achieves its objectives.

As part of the project, the candidate will gain exemplary experience in project administration and will get an opportunity in a multidisciplinary, diverse research team.

Position Requirements

• Assess and report on the project performance.
• Setup and manage project management frameworks in ARIC.
• Prepare progress reports and presentations.
• Monitor progress of the project using project management frameworks.
• Support research activities in robotics and materials science.
• Manage technical and non-technical documentation.
• Preparing and providing documentation to ARIC project investigators and research teams
• Tracking center\'s finances and managing all center-related procurement processes.
• Review all official documents issued by the center, including: papers, patents, and media articles.
• Manage communication with other departments with the university including: media and facilities management.
• Manage all administrative processes related to hiring.
• Setup collaboration channels for all activities conducted in ARIC.
• Ensure that the lab and any conducted experiments adhere to safety regulations and standards.
• Adhere to the University\'s information security and confidentiality policies and procedures, and report breaches or other security risks accordingly.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the Line Managers

Qualifications

Candidate Profile

Essential Criteria

• Master\'s or Bachelor\'s degree from a reputable university in engineering related disciplines
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Experience with project management software such as MS Project
• Experience with technical documentation and presentations
• A willingness to contribute to a collaborative and supportive team culture
• Excellent English language communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to function as part of a team working on multiple tasks with competing demands and deadlines
• Well-developed reasoning and problem-solving skills
