Position Overview

• KU is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to work on high quality research support in the areas related to developing IoT and Blockchains based solutions for in supply chain, digital manufacturing and operations management.
• The RA will work with the research team to develop solutions that aim to provide governance of access, control, and sharing of data among multiple stakeholders and systems
• The RA will provide high quality research and prototype development in areas related to Blockchain, IoT, cloud computing, embedded system, web application development applied to healthcare data management.

To present research plans and findings leading to high impact publications contributing to the academic and research mission of the project in a convincing style, to understand research group management and assist in supervision of graduate students

Position Requirements

• Excellent programming skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Evidence of strong publication profile in highly reputable journals
• Experience in developing solutions using Ethereum, Smartcontracts, Hyperledger and IoT device integration
• Adhere to the University\'s information security and confidentiality policies and procedures, and report breaches or other security risks accordingly
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager

Candidate Profile

Essential Criteria

• Masters from a reputable university in Engineering Systems and Management or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
• Experience of undertaking assigned research tasks and starting to manage own workload
• Contributing to scientific papers and academic journal articles where possible acting as lead/ corresponding author
• A willingness to contribute to a collaborative and supportive team culture
• Excellent English language communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to function as part of a team working on multiple tasks with competing demands and deadlines
• Well-developed reasoning and problem-solving skills

Desired Criteria

• At least 2 year of increasingly accountable relevant experience as a researcher in academia or in industry
• At least 1 lead author publication in a Q1 journal in the relevant field
• Experience contributing to high impact publications in top 10% journals in the relevant field
