The ASPIRE Research Institute for Food Security in the Drylands is looking for a Research Assistant in Business/Marketing with a special interest/experience in Food/Agriculture (or related areas). This Institute features a comprehensive and highly interdisciplinary R&D programme and provides an international collaboration platform for researchers and stakeholders of the public and private food agricultural sector. It strives to generate knowledge and technological innovation in support of food security in the UAE and other arid environments of the world. As part of one of its research themes, the Institute will assess and develop market opportunities for farmed marine fish, native poultry, and other novel food and feed. This will involve studies of consumer preferences and market opportunities and supporting academic studies that evaluate the marketplace receptivity towards alternative farming methods, novel food, feed and supplements for animals and humans. To support this work, the RA position will require excellent English speaking and writing (Arabic ability an advantage) and a Masters degree is expected (ideally from an AACSB-accredited institution), with some evidence of interest/experience in the novel food/alternative farming field.
