Research Assistant (dft Computations)

Job Description
The Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Department at the United Arab Emirates University is seeking a research assistant in the area of gas phase DFT computations . The research assistant should be knowledgeable in deriving thermo-kinetics parameters from DFT computations using Gaussian16, VASP, ChemRate, and KiSTHelp codes. The candidate should be able to use high performance computing systems (HPC) in carrying out the DFT computations. The preferred candidate should have demonstrated experience in the field of combustion chemistry and have a master degree in relevant field.
Minimum Qualifacation
- A Master degree in chemical engineering where the thesis topic was on DFT computations for systems related to combustion and pyrolysis of nitrogenated or halogenated compounds. \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to use related computer codes. \xe2\x80\xa2 Capacity to formulate kinetic models based on DFT results
- Command of common DFT codes. \xe2\x80\xa2 Command of the use of HPC. \xe2\x80\xa2 Command of the use of software that derive kinetic parameters from DFT codes.
