Job Description

Applications are invited for the post of Research Assistant on 1 year (renewable) contract to join a research on mental health at the Health Education Research Unit (HERU) in the "Institute of Public Health, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, United Arab Emirates University. Standard Duties of the Post This successful applicant will be involved with research project management, field work including recruitment, data collection, and data management, and will also support the research team in a wide variety of research activities. 1. Principal Duties and Responsibilities 2. Prepare grants and ethics applications 3. Recruit and interview participants in the UAE 4. Support the Principal Investigator and research group in the implementation of the research project 5. Support if required, the development of proposals for research funding/ ethics applications 6. Engage in the wider research and scholarly activities of the research unit and the Institute 7. Contributes to Behavioral Analysis through the application of behavioural science models (e.g., COM-B, Health Belief Model, or others) to examine health attitudes, literacy, and help-seeking behaviors 8. Carry out administrative and management work associated with the research project under the supervision of the Principal Investigator. 9. Assist in qualitative and quantitative data analysis using analysis software/s. 10. Write research proposals / grant proposals and ethics applications 11. Contribute to preparation of manuscripts



Minimum Qualification



Applicants should have a master's in public health or Epidemiology or related field

1. Excellent computer and numerical ability 2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Arabic and English 3. Ability to work independently and take initiative 4. Demonstrated awareness of cultural, privacy and confidentiality issues. 5. Good interpersonal and team working skills and flexibility with working hours. 6. Good skills in SPSS. 7. Good skills in Nvivo. 8. Previous experience in research proposal writing and published papers
