The Computer Science and Software Engineering Department at the College of IT, United Arab Emirates University is seeking motivated and skilled Research Assistants to join our research team. The successful candidate will contribute to a cutting-edge project focused on developing advanced predictive models for intracranial aneurysm rupture risk. The RA will assist the principal investigator in developing and applying advanced Artificial Intelligence methodologies, including Machine Learning and Deep Learning, for analyzing multimodal medical data. A significant aspect of the research will involve exploring and integrating Physics-Informed Models (PIMs) to incorporate biomechanical and hemodynamic principles related to aneurysm rupture mechanics. This project offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of computer science, medical imaging, natural language processing, AI, physics-based simulation, and healthcare. Responsibilities: o Contribute to the development and implementation of advanced AI/ML/DL models for medical image analysis related to aneurysms. o Develop and apply Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques for extracting relevant clinical information and risk factors from unstructured textual data. o Investigate and implement effective multimodal fusion strategies to combine insights from image analysis, text analysis, and physics-based simulations. o Develop or integrate Physics-Informed Models (PIMs) to simulate biomechanical stress and hemodynamic factors within aneurysms.
Minimum Qualification
Masters in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field. o Strong theoretical and practical background in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Deep Learning. o Proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., Python, with experience in libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn). o Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualification
Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: o Medical Image Analysis or Computer Vision. o Natural Language Processing (NLP), particularly with clinical text. o Multimodal data fusion techniques. o Physics-Informed Models (PIMs) or physics-based simulation (e.g., CFD, Finite Element Analysis) relevant to biomechanics or hemodynamics.
