The research project focuses on the design and evaluation of innovative architectures for heterogeneous computing systems, with practical applications in drones, autonomous vehicles, and embedded critical systems. The goal is to explore architectural enhancements that optimize performance, reliability, and energy efficiency in real-world platforms. Position Summary: The Research Assistant (RA) will contribute to the execution of the project by supporting literature reviews, design tasks, software/hardware implementation, and real-world testing. This role involves working closely with the principal investigator and research team to explore and validate architectural solutions on computing boards and domain-specific applications. Key Responsibilities: o Conduct state-of-the-art research and comparative analyses on heterogeneous computing architectures. o Assist in the design and development of novel system-level solutions. o Implement prototypes and test setups using Python and other relevant tools. o Integrate and evaluate developed solutions on platforms such as drones and autonomous vehicles. o Document research findings, write technical reports, and contribute to academic publications. o Participate in team meetings and collaborative work with cross-disciplinary researchers. Required Qualifications: o Bachelor's or master's degree in computer engineering, space science, or related fields. o Background in space, avionics, or embedded computing. o Strong programming skills in Python (knowledge of C/C++ is a plus). o Interest in working with real-time systems, FPGA/SoC boards, or autonomous platforms. o Good written and oral communication in English.
