The Role
Applications are invited for a Research Assistant (RA) position at the Department of Mechanical Engineering with the College of Engineering at UAE University. The RA will work on a project dedicated to developing a detection tool for wax thickness buildup and corrosion in pipeline. The RA will work to mathematically model and simulate wax buildup in oil and gas pipelines as well as design, create and buildup of a testing flow loop, and the detection tool. RA should be comfortable carrying experimental studies individually. Additional job responsibilities will include administrative duties as well as maintenance of the lab as deemed necessary by the supervisor. The RA appointment will be for 2 years. Highly motivated candidates with academic background in engineering (chemical/mechanical engineering) or related fields are invited to apply for this position. The minimum educational qualification is bachelor\'s while preference will be given to candidates with master\'s degree. The candidate should be willing to spend significant time working on a computer or in the lab. The package includes a monthly allowance in the range of AED 5,000 - 6,000 depending on the educational qualification and experience.
