A Research Assistant position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Ahmed Al-Marzouqi at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, United Arab Emirates University. Dr. Ahmed\xe2\x80\x99s research focuses on the understanding mechanisms of gene regulation, specifically studying the functions of chromatin remodeling complexes and their role in transcriptional regulation and DNA repair.

\xef\x82\xa7 Management of PI\xe2\x80\x99s lab/team: organization and ordering and procurement of research material and consumables.
\xef\x82\xa7 Carry out experiments in the area of chromatin, learn new techniques, perform data analysis, including the statistical analysis, and be involved in interpretation and communication of main results.
\xef\x82\xa7 Participate in the training of undergraduate students.
\xef\x82\xa7 Be responsible for the troubleshooting of laboratory experiments.
\xef\x82\xa7 Ensure that the work is completed efficiently and on a timely manner.
\xef\x82\xa7 Adhere to the university regulations and safety whenever applicable.

Specific Responsibilities and Tasks:
\xef\x82\xa7 Independently conduct specific molecular biology experiments
\xef\x82\xa7 Generate advanced graphs to illustrate the results.
\xef\x82\xa7 Write (advanced English skills are desired), communicate and disseminate the work.
\xef\x82\xa7 Assist in training and supervision of undergraduate students on specific techniques relevant to their projects (understanding theory, running experiment, analyzing results, and writing it).

This position is supported by an external grant and is for a period of 1 year with the possibility of renewing the contract on a yearly basis. The salary commensurate with training and experience and is competitive and tax-free.

Minimum Qualification
A Master\'s degree in biology or closely related scientific field.
