A Research Assistant position is available in the Department of Internal Medicine, College of Medicine & Health Sciences, United Arab Emirates University with Dr Adnan Agha. The successful candidate will be engaged in a clinical research project investigating metabolic syndrome and diabetes. The position is for an enthusiastic young scientist with interest in clinical research who can work with patients with minimal supervision. The successful candidate should have at least a BSc in health sciences discipline but candidates with MSc degree will be preferred. The candidate should have good knowledge and experience in clinical hands on work and use of ultrasound.

Primary responsibilities include the design and performance of clinical research as well as working laboratory and performing Fibroscan. Additional duties include preparing and maintaining detailed records, logs and summary reports of all research findings using appropriate software, and performing other job-related duties, as required.

Minimum Qualification

The applicant must have a BSc degree in health sciences, nursing, radiology, or pharmaceutical science discipline.

Preferred Qualification

MSc candidates will be preferred and having a HAAD licence as healthcare professional is desirable.

Expected Skills/Rank/Experience

Previous experience of working in a clinical project and previous publication in a peer reviewed journal is desired.
