OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
Performs activities associated with the development, approval, implementation, and maintenance of new and existing repair schemes to ensure proper repairs of products in line with company procedures. The Repair and Coating Engineer is ultimately responsible for ensuring that:
the coating work center contributes to the overall business unit as efficiently as possible.
The stripping work center contributes to the overall business unit as efficiently as possible.
Lead and/or support the repair process development for new products
The Coating processes are thermal spray methods, primarily Atmospheric Plasma Spray (APS), and High-Velocity Oxy-Fuel (HVOF).
The primary product application is hot gas path components on heavy industrial Gas Turbines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of Mechanical Engineering/Materials/Metallurgical engineering degree.
Minimum of 5 years experience in Thermal Spray applications, preferably with aerospace or Industrial Gas Turbine applications.
Knowledgable on heavy duty Gas Turbines products and Coating Processes
Knowledgeable in Chemical Stripping Process
Hands-on with coating and Robot Programming.
The ability to read and apply drawings and specifications

Primary Responsibilities:
Ensuring required product coating systems are developed in accordance with the company\xe2\x80\x99s qualification methods, and the coating equipment is running in a controlled fashion on a day-to-day basis.
Ensuring required product stripping systems are developed in accordance with the company\xe2\x80\x99s qualification methods, and the coating equipment is running in a controlled fashion on a day-to-day basis.
Ensuring the availability and maximizing the uptime of the equipment for the Production department
Supports resolution of Non-Conformance Reports (MRB/NCR) and implementation of corrective and preventive actions
Initiates improvements toward product and process-related efficiencies.
Specific Tasks:
Creation of Process / Product specific Work Instruction documentation
Process parameter development for both Atmospheric Plasma Spray (APS) and High-Velocity Oxy-Fuel (HVOF) coating systems.
Creation of component-specific robot programs
Laboratory evaluation and subsequent interpretation leading to program and parameter adjustments.
Day to Day equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance measures for the coating and stripping process.
The ability to manage and achieve a First Article Inspection (FAI) qualification through a dedicated approved procedure.
Initiates improvements toward product and process-related efficiencies.
Process parameter development for the chemical stripping system.
Additional responsibilities:
Development of 3rd Multicoat system and programming new parts and projects
Revise the programs with proper fixtures on the 2nd Multicoat machine.
Managing part in case of production and eliminating any rework or extra activity.
R & D to improve the coating parameter to achieve more efficiency during production.
Training the operators to be able for processing all coating machines.
Providing all programs on the 2nd machine on the 3rd machine.
Handling the kaizen coating projects in case of improvement in production time and quality.
