We have Theatre Nurse opportunities at our 4 Devon hospitals: Plymouth, Exeter, Torbay and North Devon, with most opportunities located at Plymouth and Exeter. North Devon - The main acute hospital is situated in the town of Barnstaple. North Devon also has the rugged \xe2\x80\x98Exmoor\xe2\x80\x99 moors, perfect for those who love walking and exploring the countryside. The Royal Devon University Heathcare NHS Foundation Trust East (Exeter) and North (Barnstaple) hospitals have recently merged so the healthcare provision stretches across Northern, Eastern and Mid Devon, with a workforce of over 15,000 staff. Core services are provided for more than 615,000 people, across more than 2,000 square miles across Devon, while some specialist services cover the whole of the south western peninsula, extending as far as Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The hospitals deliver a wide range of emergency, specialist and general medical services. Alongside the two acute hospitals, integrated health and social care services are provided across a variety of settings including community inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, and within people\xe2\x80\x99s own homes. Torre Abbey, a monastery founded in 1196, has art galleries and extensive gardens \xe2\x80\x93 any fans of the author Agatha Christie may know she lived and wrote her famous novels in Torquay! Brixham is a charming coastal town, famous for its attractiveness and its fishing heritage. It still has a thriving fish market, supplying fresh fish to the rest of the UK.The Torbay area is known for its beauty and leisure facilities and, like all of Devon, is a popular destination for holidaymakers. Torbay\xe2\x80\x99s towns are within 10 miles of each other and are easily accessible by public transport. The Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust (TSD) provides health and social care services to people in their own homes and in the local community. Acute hospital services are provided by Torbay Hospital, located in Torquay and there are five community hospitals across Torbay, from the town of Dawlish to Brixham. TSD supports around 500,000 face-to-face contacts with patients in their homes and communities each year and see over 78,000 people in the A&E (ED) department annually. The local resident population is around 286,000 people, with an additional 100,000 visitors and holidaymakers visiting the area during the summer holiday season.
