The post holder will work collaboratively with other team members, will uphold and


live the NMC Nursing Strategy in order to provide safe and outstanding care to their


patient, relatives, friends and significant others all the time, every time.

Be responsible for providing and coordinating patient care, educating
patients and the public about various health conditions, and providing


advice and emotional support to patients and their family members.


Assess and identify patients' needs and implement and monitor the
patient's medical plan and treatment. They will work with a team of


physicians and other health care specialists or allied health in various


settings


Perform systematic patient assessment and collect pertinent data about
the patient's health or situation.


Understand and analyze the assessment information and data Determine actual and potential nursing diagnoses, problems, and issues Define the predicted and expected outcomes of the patient's planned
care


Create and evaluate patient care plans with the medical team Record vital signs, recognize and address abnormalities Define the care plan in collaboration with the healthcare team, patients,

Maintain and update the technical and clinical skills related to nursing

Employ strategies to promote patients' health and a safe environment. Understand different diagnostic tests and laboratory exams Perform essential life support (BLS Prepare patients for medical examination and treatment Administer medications and monitor patients for any side effects and
reactions


Administer treatments such as IV fluids or blood products and monitor
patients for any reactions


Provide wound care management Assist in medical procedures invasive or non-invasive as needed Facilitate the process of safe patient`s admission and discharge. Intervenes appropriately in clinical emergency situations Demonstrates competency in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and
participates as a member of Code Blue hospital wide.


Demonstrates priority setting or triage skills and timeliness in responding
to patient's needs


Demonstrates competency in triaging patients of all ages including
neonates, pediatrics, adult and pregnant women. Collects current


symptoms, as well as a detailed patient history and determine


appropriate triage level to provide care to the patient based on the


patient condition.


Demonstrates competency in providing emergency nursing care and
procedures for patients of all ages.


Assisting with endotracheal intubation, insertion central venous catheter
and arterial catheter, insertion of intercostal drain, and intraosseous


needles.


Demonstrate knowledge in care of patients on mechanical ventilator. Administer medications required for the management of patients as per
the doctor's order and monitor and report any adverse effects as per the


hospital policy.


Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of nursing assessment and
reassessment of all emergency patients on regular intervals as per the


hospital policy.


Participate in care and maintenance of infusion pump, syringe pump,
cardiac monitor, ECG machine, rapid infuser and warmer, and transport


ventilators ensuring an agreed standard of decontamination at all times


including accurate records of traceability of all equipment.


Demonstrates vigilance in identifying patients with communicable
diseases and following the appropriate isolation technique for such


patients


Ensures that all the HAAD notifications to be done from Emergency
Room are completed within the stipulated time frame.


OSHAD:


Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and
procedures and cooperate with hospital management to comply with


those requirements.


Work accordance with the documented OSH procedures and
instructions, specific responsibilities


Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures. Notifying OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and
assistance with the preparation of risk assessments, incident reports.


Comply with Waste management procedures and policies. Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills
and awareness programs.


Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems.

Have an appropriate license to work as a nurse in the relevant regulatory
health authority (DoH, DHA) with all the qualification and experience this


mandates.


Manage their own professional revalidation Have basic life support qualification (within past 24 months) Have an active interest in the clinical field in which they are employed Be willing to work across departments when necessary Be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English (spoken and
written)


DESIRABLE: The post holder should have:


Evidenced experience/expertise in the clinical field in which they are
employed


Evidenced ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Organizational and administrative skills with which to use the HIS platform


for clinical documentation
