Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate

OT Nurse (Operating Theatre Nurse)

to join our dynamic surgical team, specializing in

Orthopedic and Spinal Surgeries

. The OT Nurse will play a key role in assisting during surgeries, ensuring that the operating environment is sterile and safe, and providing direct patient care before, during, and after surgery.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and highly organized nurse with experience in orthopedic and spinal surgical procedures. The successful candidate will work closely with the surgical team to provide high-quality patient care and ensure that all procedures are conducted efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in Surgeries:

Provide direct assistance to surgeons during orthopedic and spinal surgeries by passing instruments, maintaining sterile fields, and anticipating the surgeon's needs. Prepare and position patients for surgery. Ensure that surgical instruments and equipment are sterile and ready for use. Maintain a safe and organized environment in the operating room, ensuring all equipment is functioning.

Patient Care:

Monitor patients' vital signs during surgery and report any abnormalities to the surgical team. Prepare patients for surgery by checking medical records, surgical orders, and consent forms. Provide postoperative care, including monitoring patients in the recovery room and assisting with patient transfer to recovery units. Educate patients and families on post-surgical care and recovery plans.

Sterilization and Infection Control:

Follow proper sterilization techniques to prevent infection during surgeries. Clean and disinfect operating room surfaces and surgical instruments in line with hospital protocols.

Surgical Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of surgeries, including the instruments used and the steps followed during the procedure. Document any surgical complications or irregularities.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with the surgical team (surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical assistants, etc.) to ensure the efficient flow of surgeries. Participate in preoperative and postoperative rounds to update patients' care plans. Assist with scheduling surgeries and ensuring that the operating room is prepared.

Continuing Education and Improvement:

Stay updated on new surgical techniques, orthopedic and spinal care procedures, and infection control protocols. Attend training sessions and workshops as required.

Qualifications:

Education:

Registered Nurse (RN) with current licensure to practice Additional certifications or training in

perioperative nursing

,

orthopedic surgery

, or

spinal surgery

preferred.

Experience:

Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience, with at least 1 years in an operating room setting, specifically assisting in

orthopedic

and/or

spinal surgeries

. Familiarity with common orthopedic and spinal surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, techniques, and sterilization procedures. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team.

Pay: AED4,500.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
