The Cath Lab Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. This includes pre-, intra-, and post-procedural care within the catheterization laboratory. The nurse collaborates closely with physicians, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation and monitoring of patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, and other interventional procedures. Perform pre-procedure assessments and ensure all pre-op preparations are completed, including consent, laboratory tests, and patient education. Provide direct nursing care during procedures, including sedation monitoring, sterile field maintenance, and documentation. Monitor vital signs, ECG, and hemodynamic status during procedures and respond to emergencies when necessary. Administer medications, including IV sedation and emergency drugs, as per protocol. Ensure proper post-procedure care, including sheath removal, site monitoring, patient recovery, and discharge instructions. Maintain accurate records of patient care and procedure details. Adhere to infection control, radiation safety, and patient confidentiality standards. Participate in the maintenance and inventory of equipment and supplies. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for patient-centered care and participate in case reviews or quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)

License:

Valid nursing license in [insert country/region]; Qatar DHP license (or eligibility) if applicable

Certifications:

BLS and ACLS (mandatory); PALS (preferred)

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 3 year in a Cath Lab or critical care setting (ICU/CCU preferred)
