Job Description

1. Job Purpose The Registered Nurse will be responsible for collecting patient information and for providing quality patient care to all patients the visit the clinic. The Registered nurse coordinates the day-to-day activities involving patient care in an efficient and professional manner. 2. Duties and Responsibilities 2.1 Operations Collects information on patient status from a variety of sources using assessment skills including observation, communication and physical assessment Ensure all clients have their needs met and receive appropriate attention Works with medical staff to ensure quality patient care and services are provided Is adept and knowledgeable with the use of specific equipment Is highly skilled at IV Cannulation and Phlebotomy Assists the doctors with administering IV therapy to patients Is responsible for ordering medication, managing medication rotation and inventory Ensures timely and accurate documentation of all patients records according to TEC Elixir Medical Center's standards Ensure all consents, medical records and notes are organized, compiled and stored correctly. Anticipates, recognizes and manages emergencies, and unsafe situations/practice, and initiates appropriate and timely intervention. Influences and facilitates change within the department in order to improve standards of care. Be responsible for all aspects of health and safety and compliance. Ensuring all necessary checks are carried out and full stock counts completed at the correct times. Promotes an environment that enables patient safety, independence, quality of life and health. Maintains the strictest confidentiality and performs all duties in a professional manner. Assists in the implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and systems for all operational areas of the clinic. Assisting in the development\implementation of cost-effective policies and procedures for all administrative and operational areas. Required to help with administration work in the office when not busy with nursing duties. Issue reports when necessary. Performs other duties as assigned. 2.2 Customer Service Adhere to the clinic's mission of enhancing the patient's well-being Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer need assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction Ensure correct information is available for cashier to charge Adhere to the hospitals telephone standards 2.3 Personal responsibilities Apply oneself to the job, continually upgrade oneself, and embrace the company's core values. Demonstrates professional accountability and responsibility at all times Complies with the Nursing Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct. Maintains own staff development folder to record all educational activities and professional growth related to evidenced based practise and critical incidents Maintain registration with Nursing licensing board and Department of Health. Maintains current knowledge in the latest Clinical Practices. 3. Job Requirements 3.1 Skills and Knowledge Should have strong communication skills (both written & verbal) Must have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills Should be presentable, have good manners and be well-spoken at all times since we deal with a lot of high-end clients Knowledge of organization policies, procedures and systems Knowledge of health administrative practices Knowledge of computer systems and applications Knowledge of government regulations and requirements Skill in gathering and interpreting data Skill in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, patients, public and external agencies Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgement, decision-making and problem-solving expertise Ability to research and prepare reports or other correspondence as required Phlebotomy / IV administration training and skills BLS, mandatory training, infection control training, health and safety training, good knowledge of resuscitation (anaphylaxis algorithm) Working knowledge of Vitamin and Mineral Infusions administration Computer literate in Microsoft Word / Excel and able to answer formal emails as well as make bookings The ability to research, process, analyse and present material clearly and concisely Should display discretion and an understanding of confidentiality issues 3.2 Personal Traits Should be positive and self-motivated Should take initiative Should be service oriented and customer focused Should be able to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines Should display clarity of speech Should be passionate about personal appearance and good hygiene Should have good organisational and time management skills Be flexible with working location as this can change during the day 3.3 Educational Qualifications Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing B.S.N. or equivalent essential 3.5 Licensure/Certification Requirements Current RN license from a recognised accredited professional body Maintains licensure as required 4.
