Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and ensuring the well-being of patients in various healthcare settings.

Responsibilities & Duties

Monitor and assess post-operative patients for complications, pain levels, and recovery progress. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including pain management and wound care. Evaluates the quality and appropriateness of care delivered to patients. Refer patients to the Family Medicine physician or overnight General Practitioner (GP) as clinically indicated. Request and process sick leave documentation for patients in coordination with the treating physician. Educate patients and families on post-operative care, discharge instructions, and follow-up plans. Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records and documentation in the hospital's electronic medical record (EMR) system. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care. Respond to emergencies and escalate care when necessary. Adhere to infection control standards and hospital protocols at all times. Accepts accountability for own actions and decision-making, and for the related outcome. Maintains and promotes customer satisfaction through effective customer service. Provide supervision and training to other team members according to their competence.

Competency (knowledge, skills, & abilities)

Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a surgical or inpatient setting. Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Valid QCHP license in good standing.
