We are seeking a highly motivated Portfolio Manager to join our team who will drives increase in value of the product pipeline in Sandoz International Region markets in line with Regional and Global Portfolio strategy and growth objectives.

Major Accountabilities:
  • Develop & establishment the 5-year portfolio strategy (on cluster and country level) and identification of short- and medium-term portfolio opportunities.
  • Lead the detailed 5-year product / country execution plan for AME countries under the scope of the role; ensuring the market can translate the vision board into meaningful launch forecasts in the 5-year strategic plan window
  • Drive increase in value of new product pipeline across AME by identifying and selecting high-value strategic assets, ensuring high-quality evaluation, timely allocation to execution and successful progression of selected pipeline assets through all pipeline execution phases from selection to launch
  • Key partner for AME countries in all aspects for portfolio management, key portfolio lead for all markets with local production needs to ensure the smooth activation of this important access driver by leading internal approval processes
  • Ensure pipeline growth by pro-actively identifying opportunities in the region/cluster.
  • Lead cross-functional team (Marketing, BD, RA, IP, Supply Chain) to coordinate various portfolio activities and priorities.
  • Implement and foster culture of in-depth assessments and consistent methodology for portfolio evaluations within the AME Portfolio and across country Portfolio teams -- ensuring portfolio choices are based on in-depth evaluations, key value drivers are identified and aligned to market specifics and customer insights, key assumptions are validated, aligned with relevant stakeholders and well-documented, ensuring consistency in portfolio choices and efficient resource allocation
  • Ensure a relevant and up to date LoE (loss of exclusivity) mapping is developed and continuously maintained by relevant IP function, covering all key markets in AME cluster; ensure timely portfolio selections and execution in line with LoE landscape to maximize cluster pipeline value and increase LoE coverage
  • Maintain and regularly share with direct manager and other relevant functions an in-depth market intelligence with clarity regarding market archetype, regulatory aspects, commercial infrastructure as well as relevant customer insights to facilitate high-quality assessments and decision-making.
  • Analyse sales scenarios and financial assumptions for various business plans. Provide recommendations to maximize Sandoz performance and forecast accuracy.
  • Establish robust consistent methodology to evaluate, develop recommendations and define most efficient project execution route - allocation to in-house development (PD) or external partnerships (BD) - maximizing pipeline value, probability to launch successfully and availability of critical resources
  • Ensure forecast accuracy and continued transparency on the pipeline value and status, maintain pipeline data quality and accuracy consistently across all key markets in the AME cluster
  • Monitor and facilitate efficient progress of projects in execution and timely escalation to relevant stakeholders to ensure pipeline value maximization for the AME cluster
  • Ensure timely allocations of selected portfolio opportunities via established Global and Regional Portfolio governance processes
  • Provide recommendations and support for senior management in preparation of all portfolio development related decisions and provide information as prioritization and budget allocation to projects
  • Run portfolio workshops in all key countries to create alignment & the appropriate focus and select the right molecules to build future Sandoz competitive strength
Role Requirements

The job holder needs to be ambitious and have a strong agile mindset. To achieve this the job holder needs to have:

- MSc, MBA or PhD with background in Economics, Management, Business Administration or Life Sciences
- 7+ years\' experience in pharmaceutical portfolio management
- Proven experience in managing pharmaceutical product portfolios across multiple regions
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, product development lifecycle, and regulatory requirements
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret market data and trends
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Excellent presentation and influencing skills
- Emerging market experience
- Strategic thinking and ability to develop long-term portfolio plans
- Financial literacy, ability to interpret and draw insights from financial statements and KPIs
- Very good command of English language
