Regional Attorney, Egypt Purpose of the Job The aim of this position is to support the legal department in preparing documents for all legal correspondence, organize and maintain files. S/he will be asked to conduct legal research into various areas of law.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Draft and finalize contracts and vendor agreements in both. (Preferably be able to draft contracts in English as well.)
Organize and maintain legal documents in a paper and electronic filing system.
Meet with other department members to discuss issues related to legal department.
Edit and draft internal policies and procedures.
Prepare legal correspondence and other documents for attorneys.
Handle government fillings, court appearances, compliance registrations and employment law disputes.
Gather and analyze statutes, decisions, and legal articles, codes, documents and other data relevant to the organization.
Provide legal advice to senior management regarding Egyptian law and procedures.
Research, anticipate and guard company against legal risks
Represent the organization in legal proceedings (administrative boards, court trials etc.)
Perform other relevant tasks and functions as required by the direct manager
Required Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
Bachelor's degree in law.
Minimum of 3 years of attorney experience in Egypt
Must be fully registered and licensed to practice law in Egypt.
Experience working in corporate law or extensive understanding for Egyptian law and working knowledge of the English language.
Experience working with a large team in a corporate setting.
Full understanding of applicable NGO Laws, and procedures of the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
Be capable and experienced in obtaining permits and registrations in the Egyptian bureaucratic system.
A working knowledge or experience in Egyptian employment law is required
Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Very good verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in both, the Arabic and English languages
Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time-sensitive documents and have exceptional organizational skills
Strong analytical skills with high level of accuracy
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to solve critical issues
Excellent negotiation skills and be able to find ethical solutions to legal matters
Excellent public speaking skills.
Travel and Working requirements
Must be able to work on weekend and/or evenings as necessary.
