Job Description

Advertises job vacancies and screens, shortlists, and interviews candidates. In this role, he/she will develop and post job descriptions using social media and other platforms in order to identify suitable applicants. He/she will analyze the recruitment process and make recommendations for improvements and/or changes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Discuss and establish qualification requirements and terms and conditions of employment with managers;
  • Formulates detailed job descriptions;
  • Using web-based technology and social media, analyzes hiring trends, post job vacancies, and following up with candidates during the hiring process;
  • Conducts phone calls or meetings to create a shortlist of qualified candidates;
  • Mediates between candidates and hiring managers;
  • Maintains a database of high potential applicants for future vacancies;
  • Produces reports on hiring plans and strategies;
  • Measures the results of candidate interviews and job placements using the available hiring metrics software or any systems & procedures in place;
  • Analyzes recruitment procedures and the performance of recruitment agencies,and recommends improvements and/or changes.

Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, psychology, business or another related field;
  • 5 years of experience as a recruiting specialist with a track record of employee placement;
  • Ability to work within a team and to coordinate team activities;
  • Excellent analytical skills to examine resumes and find the best-suited candidates for specific role;
  • Strong communication skills and able to interface with relevant internal and external parties;
  • Proficient in writing and able to produce reports on hiring analyses;
  • Leadership abilities to delegate tasks and train new employees;
  • Strong negotiation skills when discussing terms and conditions of employment;
  • In-depth knowledge of hiring strategies, applicable labor laws, and employment equity;
  • Ability to evaluate recruiting software packages and/or procedures to recommend those which are best suited to the company.
