Role Overview The Radiographer (X-Ray) is responsible for performing diagnostic X-Ray procedures and examinations in compliance with M42 and DOH/DHA guidelines. The role involves operating and monitoring radiographic equipment to capture high-quality images for accurate diagnosis. The Radiographer ensures patient care during procedures and assists the Line Manager in managing daily tasks and improving departmental operations. The role requires strong technical skills and adherence to safety standards to effectively identify anatomical structures and abnormalities. Responsibilities
Patient preparation and safety: Assess patient needs, follow physician instructions, and ensure safety before, during, and after radiographic procedures.
Physician consultation: Collaborate with physicians to review patient history and select appropriate radiographic procedures and equipment.
Equipment and environment management: Maintain clean imaging rooms, ensure proper supplies, and monitor radiographic equipment for quality control.
Patient communication: Explain procedures, equipment, and examination details to patients for understanding and cooperation.
Image acquisition and quality control: Perform X-ray procedures, adjust equipment for optimal imaging, and verify patient details in the RIS/PACS system.
Documentation and reporting: Record patient data, radiation doses, and rejected images in the system, and prepare results for radiologist interpretation.
Training and coordination: Provide training on equipment and protocols, coordinate with vendors for maintenance, and maintain accurate records and reports.
Qualifications Education
Bachelor's degree in Radiography, Radiology Technology, or Medical/Diagnostic Imaging, or a Diploma in Radiology
Associate degree in Radiography
Experience
1-2 years of post-qualification experience in the relevant field
Completion of specialty qualification per recognized guidelines (DOH/DHA)
Certification & Licensure
DOH/DHA Medical License
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
