The Industrial Hygienist will provide guidance and coordination of certain aspects of occupational hygiene programs and processes to ensure the recognition, elimination, and control of occupational health hazards and diseases. This role will provide technical expertise and guidance on industrial hygiene standards and best practices and will be responsible for the development and implementation of occupational hygiene strategies and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct industrial hygiene field inspections/audits (noise, air quality, IAQ, etc.) for the project sites. Provide industrial hygiene services at the request of client IH or HSSE team.
Anticipate, recognize, evaluate potential health hazards, and assist the project management team by recommending proper controls local and OSHA guidelines.
Review, assist with development and/or coordinate specific risk improvement or regulatory mandated programs. Coordinate the implementation of these programs with the project management team, client IH and HSSE team.
Provide technical expertise for the development of industrial hygiene-related technical bulletins or information sheets.
Provide training for internal employees in industrial hygiene-related areas.
Assist the HSSE department with review or evaluation of occupational disease incidents that may have arisen from specific process or workplace exposures.
Maintain and calibrate field any IH equipment on a scheduled basis.
Qualifications & Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (BSc) in industrial Hygiene, or related field.
Relevant certifications, Certified Industrial Hygienist-CIH or equivalent may be preferred.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in industrial hygiene, preferably in the oil and gas industry
Demonstrated competency in field consultation and familiarity with current industrial hygiene technology.
Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively train, motivate, and guide construction site personnel in safety practices.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to conduct thorough incident investigations and risk assessments.
Proficiency in using safety management software and tools.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in preparing & presenting environmental reports and presentations.
Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including contractors, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities.
