Job Description

To manage all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. The Quantity Surveyor seeks to minimize the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.

Key Responsibilities:



Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities. Perform cost analysis for project work. Assist in establishing a client's requirements and undertake feasibility studies. Conduct value engineering and risk management processes. Advise on procurement strategy. Identify, analyze, and develop responses to commercial risks. Prepare and analyze costing for tenders. Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes. Value completed work and arrange payments. Monitor project budgets and variations. Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and building standards. Provide regular reports on project progress, costs, and forecasts.

Qualifications and Skills:



Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field. Minimum [3-5] years of relevant experience (depending on level of the role). Proficient in cost control software and MS Office (Excel, Word). Strong analytical and numerical skills. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Knowledge of FIDIC and other standard forms of contract is a plus. Familiarity with local construction laws, codes, and practices in UAE.
