Job Description

The Quantity Surveyor ensures that projects are completed within budget and on time, while also maintaining quality standards. They are responsible for cost estimation, contract management, and financial reporting, making them essential to the success of any construction project.

Responsibilities: Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and overhead costs. Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects and provide financial advice to stakeholders. Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best prices and terms. Assist in the preparation of tender documents and evaluate bids from contractors. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure project alignment with financial goals.

Preferred Candidate: Strong analytical and numerical skills to assess project costs effectively. Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients, contractors, and team members. Proficient in using quantity surveying software and tools. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms. Proven experience in the construction industry, particularly in quantity surveying. Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with industry trends.

Skills: Proficiency in quantity surveying software such as CostX, Revit Architecture & Bluebeam. Strong understanding of construction contracts and legal frameworks. Excellent project management skills. Ability to perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies. Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of local construction regulations and standards. Ability to prepare detailed financial reports and budgets. Strong mathematical skills for cost estimation.
