Position Overview
GMG is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage project-related costs throughout all stages of design, tendering, and construction. Based in Dubai, this role plays a critical part in ensuring cost efficiency, financial accuracy, and compliance with company and regulatory standards across GMG's retail and commercial development projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage cost control activities through all project phases including design, tendering, and construction.
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and assist in tender documentation with design and consultancy teams.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs, cost estimation, and budgeting to support project feasibility.
  • Review cost estimates and recommend adjustments for material and resource optimization.
  • Support procurement processes, from scope development to contract award, ensuring budget alignment.
  • Validate contractor invoices through on-site measurements and compliance checks.
  • Coordinate with Finance for fund approvals, variation orders, and budget updates.
  • Evaluate vendor claims, ensuring proper documentation and approval processes.
  • Perform site inspections to verify contractual and quality compliance.
  • Prepare and present periodic financial and cost reports to management.
  • Approve final contractor payments and ensure timely project close-out.
  • Identify and resolve cost or quality deviations during project execution.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Master's Degree in Quantity Surveying or Business Administration (preferred).
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, preferably in retail, commercial, or construction sectors.
  • Strong financial acumen with proven experience in budget management and vendor negotiation.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with a detail-oriented approach.
