The Role
As an Events and Exhibitions-focused Quantity Surveyor, your pivotal role revolves around the meticulous management of project costs and budgets. Your collaboration with the project management team is indispensable in ensuring precise financial control and optimal resource allocation. Your expertise plays a vital role in guaranteeing the profitability and triumph of our events and exhibitions. Key Responsibilities: Cost Estimation and Budgeting: \xe2\x80\xa2 Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for events and exhibition projects. \xe2\x80\xa2 Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with client expectations and company profitability targets. Tendering and Procurement: \xe2\x80\xa2 Oversee the tendering process, including the preparation of tender documents, evaluation of bids, and negotiation with suppliers and contractors. \xe2\x80\xa2 Source and select subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors based on cost, quality, and reliability. Contract Management: \xe2\x80\xa2 Administer contracts and agreements with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors. \xe2\x80\xa2 Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions, and manage variations as required. Cost Control and Reporting: \xe2\x80\xa2 Monitor project costs and expenditures against approved budgets. \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide regular financial reports to project management, highlighting any variances and proposing corrective actions. Value Engineering: \xe2\x80\xa2 Identify opportunities for cost optimization and value engineering without compromising quality or client satisfaction. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: \xe2\x80\xa2 Identify potential risks related to costs, and develop strategies to mitigate them. \xe2\x80\xa2 Maintain a proactive approach to risk management throughout the project lifecycle. Documentation and Record Keeping: \xe2\x80\xa2 Maintain accurate and organized records of all financial transactions, contracts, and project-related documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. \xe2\x80\xa2 Membership in the Society of Engineers \xe2\x80\x93 UAE is mandatory \xe2\x80\xa2 Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably with a focus on events and exhibitions. \xe2\x80\xa2 AutoCAD proficiency. \xe2\x80\xa2 Proficiency in using quantity surveying software and tools. \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong analytical and numerical skills, with attention to detail. \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. \xe2\x80\xa2 Knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
