Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all costs related to building and civil engineering projects, ensuring that they are completed within budget.

Duties

Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labour, and overheads. Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects from a financial perspective. Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures to ensure budget adherence. Prepare tender documents, contracts, and agreements with suppliers and subcontractors. Conduct valuations of work in progress and prepare monthly reports on project costs. Liaise with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure effective communication regarding financial matters. Assist in the resolution of disputes related to contracts or costs. Keep abreast of market trends and changes in legislation that may affect project costs.

Requirements

A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry. Strong understanding of construction methods and materials. Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail. Proficiency in cost control techniques and software applications relevant to quantity surveying. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
