Job Title: Quantity Surveyor



Job Summary:



We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all cost-related aspects of construction projects, from initial estimates to final accounts. This role requires a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and contract administration, along with excellent negotiation and communication skills.

Responsibilities:



Cost Estimation and Control:

Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities (BOQs) for various construction projects. Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction process. Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to optimize project budgets. Prepare and submit cost reports and forecasts to project managers and clients.

Contract Administration:

Assist in the preparation and administration of construction contracts. Evaluate and process contractor payment applications and variations. Negotiate and resolve contractual disputes and claims. Ensure compliance with all relevant contractual obligations.

Measurement and Valuation:

Perform accurate measurement and valuation of construction works. Prepare and submit interim valuations and final accounts. Conduct site visits to verify quantities and progress. Maintain accurate records of all measurements and valuations.

Procurement and Subcontract Management:

Assist in the procurement of materials and subcontractors. Evaluate subcontractor quotations and negotiate rates. Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with contract terms.

Local Market Knowledge:

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local market prices, materials, and regulations. Understand and comply with Dubai Municipality and other relevant authorities' requirements. Familiarity with FIDIC contracts.

Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Minimum 8-10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in the UAE or the Middle East. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost management principles. Proficiency in relevant software, such as AutoCAD, CostX, or similar. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Valid UAE Driver's licence is often preferred. Familiarity with local building codes.
