Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive
Mid-Level Quantity Surveyor
with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the interior fit-out industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing project costs, preparing estimates, handling procurement, and supporting project financial control from inception to completion.
Prepare detailed cost estimates based on design drawings, BOQs, and specifications.
Develop and manage project budgets and provide cost advice to clients and internal teams.
Perform value engineering and advise on cost-saving opportunities.
2. Quantity Take-offs & BOQ Preparation
Conduct accurate quantity take-offs from design and construction drawings.
Prepare and revise Bills of Quantities (BOQs) in coordination with the design and coordination teams.
3. Procurement & Subcontractor Coordination
Source, negotiate, and manage quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Support procurement efforts by verifying rates, specifications, and commercial terms.
Track and document verbal instructions, variation orders, and changes from site.
4. Contract & Variation Management
Manage project variations and ensure timely approval and documentation.
Draft, issue, and monitor subcontractor contracts and purchase orders.
Ensure all project changes are costed, approved, and communicated to relevant teams.
5. Client Engagement
Prepare commercial proposals and quotations for clients.
Advise clients on cost implications of design and scope changes.
Coordinate with project teams to present and revise cost submissions as needed.
6. Site Coordination & Reporting
Collaborate with project and site teams to validate progress and update cost plans.
Conduct site visits to assess completed works, identify variations, and verify measurements.
Support the accounts team in preparing interim and final payment applications.
Reporting Line
The
Mid-Level Quantity Surveyor
will report directly to the
Senior Project Engineer
and function under the oversight of the
Managing Director
. They will coordinate closely with the
Project Coordination
,
Design
,
Procurement
, and
Accounts
teams to ensure financial accuracy and smooth project execution.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Interior Design.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in interior fit-out or construction projects.
Strong knowledge of materials, finishes, and supplier markets in the UAE.
Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam).
Excellent negotiation, communication, and documentation skills.
Ability to multitask, meet tight deadlines, and work independently.
Preferred
UAE experience and knowledge of local authority regulations.
Experience working with high-end interior projects (offices, villas, retail).
