Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client's dedicated project team in Oman. The successful candidate will be instrumental in providing comprehensive quantity surveying services, ensuring effective cost management, contract administration, and financial control throughout the design and construction phases of significant infrastructure projects. This role demands a professional with a strong background in consultancy, capable of managing complex financial aspects and offering strategic advice at various project stages.

Key Responsibilities:



Conduct detailed cost planning, feasibility studies, and value engineering exercises from project inception through to completion. Prepare comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BoQ), tender documentation, and contract particulars in accordance with project requirements and industry standards. Manage the full tender process, including issuing tenders, evaluating submissions, and preparing detailed recommendations for award. Administer construction contracts (e.g., FIDIC), ensuring adherence to terms and conditions, and managing contractual obligations. Undertake accurate interim valuations, assess variations/changes, compile claims, and prepare final accounts. Provide expert advice on procurement strategies, contract disputes, and risk management to clients and project teams. Monitor and report on project financial performance, ensuring effective cost control, budget adherence, and forecasting. Liaise effectively and build strong relationships with clients, contractors, sub-contractors, consultants, and other key stakeholders. Ensure compliance with local regulations, international standards, and industry best practices in all quantity surveying activities. Participate in site meetings and workshops as required, providing financial insights and guidance.

Qualifications & Experience:



Education:

Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Quantity Surveying from a recognized university.

Experience:

Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Quantity Surveying in a professional setting.

Consultancy Background:

Proven experience working within a consultancy environment, covering both the design and construction phases of projects.

Infrastructure Expertise:

Demonstrable experience on at least two significant infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, bridges, utilities, ports, airports, large-scale civil works).

Contract Knowledge:

Strong understanding and practical experience with various forms of contract, including FIDIC.

Skills:

Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in relevant QS software and MS Office Suite (particularly Excel). Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, in English. Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary team. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
