Jascon Engineering WLL is currently looking for a motivated and results-driven Quantity Surveyor
to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting the Lead Project Management Officer in overseeing the financial, contractual, and commercial aspects of our construction projects.
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for ensuring cost control, accurate documentation, invoicing, and compliance with contractual obligations while coordinating closely with Project Managers, Procurement, and Finance teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and analyze contracts, project documents, and BOQs during project kick-off.
Assist in aligning project budgets with the execution plan and contract scope.
Identify potential cost risks, gaps, or budget mismatches and escalate to the Lead PMO.
Prepare, review, and submit variation orders.
Resolve quantity and commercial discrepancies between the site and contract.
Maintain cost reports, variation logs, and forecasts in coordination with the Lead PMO.
Prepare and verify interim payment applications based on site progress and contract terms.
Ensure timely preparation and submission of sales invoices and secure proper client certification.
Monitor invoicing status, retention, and ensure alignment of cash flow with the Finance department.
Assist in preparing subcontractor packages in line with BOQ and project needs.
Validate subcontractor payments based on executed works and verified site reports.
Take off quantities from drawings and site measurements.
Maintain accurate commercial documentation for claims, variations, and final accounts.
Prepare Method Statements and related documentation with input from Project Managers.
Support preparation of EOT (Extension of Time) claims and contractual correspondences.
Ensure alignment of all commercial data with site Daily Reports and project records.
Participate in preparation of Mobilization Plans and resource allocation breakdowns.
Conduct regular site visits to verify progress quantities and support billing.
Assist Project Managers in managing commercial aspects of site execution.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in construction project cost control and quantity surveying.
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost estimation, and invoicing procedures.
Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying software (e.g., Candy, CostX).
Excellent communication, analytical, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams.
