Position Overview
The Quantity Surveyor role at AECOM Dubai supports the commercial delivery of mixed-use and infrastructure projects by controlling and monitoring all cost and contractual aspects from feasibility through construction completion. This position plays a key role in ensuring cost certainty, budget control, and financial compliance in line with client and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Control and monitor all commercial aspects of projects from feasibility stage through construction completion
  • Deliver cost management services during both pre-contract and post-contract stages
  • Support client engagement across a portfolio of infrastructure and mixed-use projects
  • Prepare cost option studies for infrastructure and public realm assets
  • Develop cost estimates from concept designs, sketches, narratives, drawings, and specifications using sound technical assumptions
  • Act as the primary project cost controller, ensuring budgets, forecasts, and cash flow remain compliant
  • Participate in project team briefings to clarify scope, roles, and responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, and update project cash flow forecasts
  • Assess contractor and consultant progress payments and change requests and provide recommendations to clients
  • Contribute to procurement strategies and tender planning
  • Assist with preparation of tender documents
  • Support tender evaluations, reviews, and reconciliations
  • Participate in value engineering workshops and commercial assessments
  • Apply working knowledge of FIDIC contract forms and standard methods of measurement including CESMM, POMI, and NRM
  • Prepare commercial reports and provide clear cost advice to project stakeholders
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Quantity Surveying or Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Actively working towards MRICS or equivalent professional accreditation
  • Minimum six years of relevant industry experience in cost and commercial management
  • Experience on infrastructure and mixed-use construction projects
  • Strong understanding of cost planning, estimating, cash flow management, and contract administration
  • Familiarity with cost management and analysis tools such as CostX, Power BI, and AutoCAD in addition to MS Office
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and commercial awareness
