The ideal candidate will combine strong technical take-off skills with solid commercial judgment, supporting the company from
tender stage
through
project execution and final account
.
Key Responsibilities
1. Pre-Contract / Tendering
Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents for
complete scope coverage
.
Prepare detailed
quantity take-offs
for civil, structural, architectural, and MEP works.
Develop and maintain
BOQs
and
cost estimates
for projects.
Coordinate with
Procurement
to obtain and validate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
Support the
pricing strategy
, including breakdowns for materials, labor, equipment, overheads, and profit.
Prepare commercial clarifications, inclusions, and exclusions for tender submissions.
2. Post-Contract / Project Execution
Monitor and report
budget vs actual costs
, highlighting variances and risks.
Prepare and submit
interim payment applications
to the Client/Consultant.
Review, evaluate, and certify
subcontractors' payment applications
.
Prepare, justify, and negotiate
Variation Orders (VOs)
and associated costs.
Support the Project Manager in
claims
,
EOT
commercial inputs, and contractual matters.
Work closely with site teams to ensure
accurate site measurements
and cost capture.
3. Final Account & Commercial Close-Out
Prepare and agree
Final Accounts
with the Client/Consultant.
Finalize subcontractor accounts, including variations, contra-charges, and adjustments.
Maintain complete and organized
commercial documentation
for audits and management review.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in
Civil Engineering
or
Quantity Surveying
(or a closely related discipline).
5-8 years
of experience as a
Quantity Surveyor
with a recognized building or general contracting company.
Proven experience handling
full trades
(civil, architectural, and MEP quantities and costs).
Strong knowledge of
contract administration
(FIDIC or similar).
High proficiency in
Excel
and quantity take-off tools; familiarity with
AutoCAD
is required; experience with
CostX / Candy / PlanSwift
is an advantage.
Excellent command of
English
(written and spoken); strong report-writing skills.
Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
