Analyze project plans and specifications to forecast expenses.
Develop and monitor project budgets to prevent cost overruns.
2. Tendering & Procurement:
Assist in preparing tender documents and contracts.
Evaluate contractor and supplier bids to ensure value for money.
Negotiate with vendors and subcontractors to secure favorable terms.
3. Contract Administration:
Review and manage construction contracts.
Advise on contractual claims, variations, and dispute resolution.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
4. Financial Control & Reporting:
Track project expenditures and compare them against budgets.
Prepare progress reports, cash flow forecasts, and final accounts.
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
5. Valuation & Payment Certification:
Assess work completed and certify interim and final payments.
Handle change orders and variations in project scope.
6. Risk Management:
Identify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies.
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sustainability standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
Experience:
5 years in construction cost management or a related role.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in cost estimation software, and MS Excel.
Soft Skills:
Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with construction methods, contracts and building regulations.
