Job Description

We are seeking an experienced

Quality Manager

to lead and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) for our

industrial testing laboratory specializing in materials and geotechnical testing

. The Quality Manager will ensure compliance with applicable standards, accreditation requirements, and client specifications while driving continuous improvement across laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management System (QMS):

Develop, implement, and maintain the laboratory Quality Management System in accordance with

ISO/IEC 17025

and other applicable standards. Ensure ongoing compliance with accreditation body requirements and regulatory standards. Prepare for, coordinate, and manage internal and external audits, assessments, and proficiency testing.

Laboratory Operations & Compliance:

Ensure testing activities for

construction materials and geotechnical testing

are performed in accordance with approved methods, standards, and procedures (ASTM, AASHTO, BS, EN, etc.). Review and approve test methods, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical records. Monitor data integrity, test results, and reporting accuracy.

Corrective & Preventive Actions:

Lead root cause analysis for nonconformities, customer complaints, and audit findings. Implement and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verify their effectiveness. Manage risk assessments and continual improvement initiatives.

Training & Competency:

Define competency requirements for laboratory personnel. Coordinate staff training, qualification, and authorization for testing activities. Promote quality awareness and a culture of compliance throughout the organization.

Equipment & Calibration:

Oversee calibration, maintenance, and verification of laboratory equipment. Ensure traceability of measurements to national or international standards.

Customer & Management Interface:

Act as the primary quality contact for clients, accreditation bodies, and regulatory authorities. Prepare quality reports and present performance metrics to management. Support contract review and technical discussions related to quality requirements.
Qualifications & Experience

Education:

Bachelor's degree in

Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering

, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum

5-8 years

of experience in an

industrial testing laboratory

, preferably in materials and geotechnical testing. At least

3 years

in a quality management or supervisory role. Strong working knowledge of

ISO/IEC 17025

(mandatory).

Technical Knowledge:

Materials testing (concrete, aggregates, asphalt, soils, steel, etc.). Geotechnical testing (soil classification, compaction, CBR, triaxial, consolidation, etc.). Familiarity with ASTM, AASHTO, BS, and EN standards.
