The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting steel products, conducting dimensional and visual checks, recording measurements, and ensuring compliance with factory quality standards. This role is critical to maintaining product integrity and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Perform dimensional checks of steel bars, billets, or finished products using gauges, calipers, micrometers, etc.
Conduct visual inspections to identify surface defects, bends, cracks, or deformities.
Record inspection results accurately and prepare QC reports.
Verify bundles, tags, batch numbers, and product specifications.
Coordinate with production teams to address quality deviations.
Reject or quarantine nonconforming materials as per QC procedure.
Support sampling, testing, and laboratory measurements when required.
Maintain proper documentation and follow quality management procedures.
Ensure compliance with safety rules and quality standards.
Requirements
Diploma in Mechanical/Industrial/Metallurgical Engineering preferred.
Minimum 2-4 years of experience
in quality control at steel plants or manufacturing industries.
Strong knowledge of steel product standards, tolerances, and inspection tools.
Ability to understand mill standards, material specifications, and QC procedures.
Good communication and reporting skills.
Physically fit and comfortable working in industrial conditions.
