The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a solid understanding of materials and finishes, and hands-on experience inspecting joinery, furniture, and interior installations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our projects meet both company and client quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Material Quality Inspection
Inspect wood, metal, upholstery, glass, and finishing materials for defects and compliance with specifications.
Verify the quality, durability, and consistency of materials before installation.
2. Dimensional Accuracy & Structural Integrity
Measure and verify dimensions against approved drawings.
Inspect joinery and assembly to ensure secure fittings, proper alignment, and structural stability.
3. Surface Finish & Aesthetic Inspection
Check for surface uniformity, finish consistency, and defect-free presentation.
Ensure colors, textures, and patterns match design and client expectations.
4. Functionality Testing
Test drawers, doors, locks, and adjustable components for smooth, accurate operation.
5. Compliance & Documentation
Ensure adherence to ISO, local building codes, and safety standards.
Prepare and maintain inspection reports, test results, and non-compliance documentation.
6. Deficiency Reporting & Corrective Actions
Identify defects, recommend solutions, and monitor corrective measures until resolution.
7. Continuous Improvement & Training
Recommend improvements to quality control processes.
Conduct training and raise quality awareness among staff and subcontractors.
8. Final Inspection & Handover
Lead final inspections before project handover to ensure all punch list items are completed to standard.
Qualifications & Experience
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Building Science.
Diploma or certification in construction-related disciplines may be accepted with strong experience.
Quality Management Certification (ISO 9001, Six Sigma, or Lean Management) preferred.
Material-Specific Certifications (e.g., Woodworking, Metal Fabrication, Painting & Finishing) are an advantage.
Experience:
3-5 years in Quality Control or Quality Assurance within interior fit-out, construction, or furniture manufacturing.
Proven experience inspecting woodwork, finishes, and joinery for interior spaces.
Language:
Proficiency in written and spoken English.
