To manage all cost and contractual aspects of Ashghal building projects, including schools, health centers, public buildings, governmental facilities, and community structures. The QS Engineer ensures accurate measurement, timely valuation, cost control, and contract administration in compliance with Ashghal and QCS standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform quantity take-offs for architectural, structural, MEP, and finishing works.
Prepare cost estimates, BOQ updates, and budget forecasts.
Verify site measurements based on approved drawings and site progress.
Review contract documents, Ashghal specifications, QCS standards, and project deliverables.
Prepare variation orders with proper documentation, cost breakdown, and technical justification.
Manage contractual correspondence, notices, claims, and compliance with FIDIC requirements.
Prepare monthly progress valuations and interim payment applications.
Review subcontractors' invoices and verify quantities before certification.
Coordinate with consultants and Ashghal cost engineers for approvals.
Monitor project expenditures, commitments, and cost-to-complete forecasts.
Maintain updated cost reports, budgets, and value engineering proposals.
Identify and report potential cost overruns with mitigation measures.
Maintain registers for variations, payments, claims, RFIs, and contract correspondences.
Prepare commercial reports, cost summaries, and project-related financial dashboards.
Support project audits and prepare financial documentation for Ashghal compliance.
Liaise with design, planning, procurement, and site teams to validate quantities and progress.
Coordinate with consultants, Ashghal representatives, and subcontractors for approvals.
Support procurement by evaluating subcontractor quotations and preparing comparison sheets.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in
Quantity Surveying

Civil Engineering
, or
Construction Management
.
Experience:
5-10 years of relevant QS experience
in building construction projects.
Minimum 2-3 years experience in Ashghal / government building projects (mandatory).
Strong experience in structural, architectural, finishing, and MEP quantity surveying.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in
AutoCAD, MS Excel, QS software, CostX/Bluebeam
.
Strong knowledge of
QCS (Qatar Construction Specifications)
and
Ashghal guidelines
.
Familiar with
FIDIC conditions of contract
.
Excellent skills in measurement, BOQ preparation, variation analysis, and cost forecasting.
