This is a remote position.
Responsible for the installation of new EX equipment
To inspect the larger and more complex electrical EX installations in all phases of construction, alterations and repair for adherence to original standards and specifications and safety regulations including IEC 60079 and PDO PR 1483.
To check complex plans and specifications for compliance with EX equipment ordinances, codes and regulations; to issue electrical permits to do related work as required.
Pro-active, ability to use initiative and display good analytical and problem solving skills
To be responsible for inspection, repair, modification, installation and testing of all electrical systems, particularly "ex" certified, on machinery in workshop (new build and overhaul)
To ensure the timely completion of planned maintenance routines on workshop electrical systems and equipment so that they are maintained fit for purpose and available when required for production purposes
Following training and certification on company EX equipment perform inspection of electrical and instrument systems on equipment against appropriate regulations and specifications and prepare written reports
Liaise with asset owner/ custodian to ensure currency of Ex Equipment documentation
Ensure EX equipment/ component inspection is accurately recorded for incorporation into overall equipment inspection report
Repair/modify/install electrical and instrument "ex" systems ensuring compliance with current regulations and specifications
Requirements
Bachelor in Electrical Engineering
Minimum of 8 to 10 years experience in all aspects of electrical installation,maintenance, and instrumentation systems
In-depth knowledge and experience with High voltage equipment switching and maintenance.
Experience of hazardous area installations, inspection and maintenance
Experience in testing and commissioning electrical systems
