Job Summary:
The Electrical/Instrument Inspector will be responsible for overseeing and executing inspection activities related to electrical and instrumentation systems during all project phases including procurement, fabrication, installation, hook-up, and commissioning. The role ensures compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards within oil and gas production facilities, especially onshore gas and LNG projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement QA/QC activities in accordance with approved QCPs, ITPs, procedures, method statements, and contract documents.
Inspect subcontractors' work and verify compliance with applicable codes, specifications, and project requirements.
Review and sign off on quality surveillance, inspection, and testing records.
Ensure the use of up-to-date versions of project documentation (e.g., AFC drawings and specifications).
Provide daily feedback and reports to the Quality Manager/Engineer on quality-related issues.
Support commissioning and start-up teams in verifying readiness of electrical and instrumentation systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Trade Certification in Electrical and/or Instrumentation.
Minimum of
8 years
of relevant inspection experience in the oil & gas industry, with
at least 5 years
in onshore gas facilities, preferably in LNG projects.
Familiarity with relevant electrical and instrumentation codes and standards such as IEC, NEC, NFPA, BS, NEMA, NETA, ATEX, IECEx-60079, etc.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems and their inspection requirements.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and international codes.
Sound knowledge of QA/QC procedures and documentation.
Good communication and reporting skills.
Proactive in identifying and solving quality issues.
