Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Material Inspection :

Verify incoming materials (plates, pipes, nozzles, fittings) against material test certificates (MTCs) Ensure traceability of materials through heat numbers and stamping Check for compliance with ASME, ASTM, or customer standards
2. Dimensional and Fit-Up Inspection:

Inspect fit-up before welding for alignment, root gaps, bevel angle, and joint configuration Perform dimensional checks on pressure vessel components and structural assemblies Verify tolerances as per fabrication drawings and ASME code allowances
3. Welding Inspection :

Monitor pre-welding, in-process welding, and post-welding activities Check weld joint preparation, interpass temperature, and electrode storage/usage Conduct visual weld inspection (VT) for weld profile, undercut, porosity, cracks, etc... Ensure welds comply with WPS and code requirements
4. Documentation & Reporting

Fill out inspection reports, checklists, and daily quality logs Maintain inspection records for traceability and quality assurance
5. Pressure Testing Supervision

Witness and document hydrostatic or pneumatic pressure tests Ensure test setup, test pressure, and holding time meet ASME and client requirements
6. Tool & Equipment Control

Ensure inspection tools and instruments are calibrated and in good condition Use certified measuring equipment traceable to national/international standards
7. Coating & Painting Inspection

Verify surface preparation and cleanliness per required standards Check application of primer/paint, DFT (Dry Film Thickness), and curing Ensure painting system complies with project specs or international standards
Qualification required:

Minimum 4 year of experience in inspection of ASME pressure vessels, piping and structural fabrication CSWIP 3.1 certificate is mandatory required ASNT Level II certificate in PT, UT, RT & MPI (prefer) Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical / Production Engineering Hand on experience with Microsoft Office
