Job Description

Job Summary:
The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that products and processes meet established quality standards. They develop and implement quality control procedures, conduct inspections, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and customer requirements. The role involves collaborating with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to maintain high-quality outputs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Assurance (QA) Duties:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001, ASME, API, or other relevant standards.
  • Prepare and update Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), Inspection Test Plans (ITP), and Method Statements.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to quality policies and procedures.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
2. Quality Control (QC) Duties:
  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of materials, components, and finished products.
  • Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) such as visual inspection, ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic testing (RT), magnetic particle testing (MT), or liquid penetrant testing (PT).
  • Monitor production processes to ensure consistency and detect deviations.
  • Maintain inspection records, test reports, and quality documentation.
  • Coordinate with third-party inspectors and certification bodies as needed.
3. Defect Management & Corrective Actions:
  • Identify, document, and report non-conformities (NCRs) and defects.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Work with production teams to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
4. Supplier & Material Quality Control:
  • Evaluate supplier quality performance and conduct supplier audits.
  • Review material certifications (MTCs), test reports, and compliance documents.
  • Ensure incoming raw materials meet required specifications.
5. Documentation & Reporting:
  • Prepare quality reports, inspection checklists, and compliance certificates.
  • Maintain accurate records for traceability and audits.
  • Ensure proper documentation for handover to clients (if applicable).
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
  • Certifications: ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, NDT Level II (UT, RT, MT, PT), AWS/CWI (for welding), or other relevant certifications.
  • Experience: 3+ years in QA/QC roles in manufacturing, construction, oil & gas, automotive, or aerospace industries.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge of quality standards (ISO, ASTM, ASME, API, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
  • Proficiency in QC tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM, etc.).
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
Work Environment:
  • May involve onsite inspections in manufacturing plants, construction sites, or offshore facilities.
  • Office-based documentation and reporting.
  • Occasional travel for supplier audits or client meetings.
